Vintage, hand painted porcelain / ceramic biscuit / cookie jar with rattan / wicker handle. These are often called a biscuit barrel or cookie jar. Round shape. Smooth edges on all sides. Crackle glaze. Floral design in vibrant colors of dark green, orange, pink, mauve and purple. Button shaped finial. Glaze finish. <br><br>Bottom is stamped Made in Japan. I purchased this item from an estate sale. There is a piece of tape with the following written on it: "Vera Irene Blake Gutleben's cookie jar - Carol remembers as a child."<br><br>Free from chips, cracks or flaws. Handle is intact.
